Group Azure Cloud & Integration Engineer

SENIOR AZURE CLOUD &

INTEGRATION ENGINEER

International multi-site organisation | Netherlands (hybrid)

The opportunity

This senior engineering role combines Azure cloud engineering, platform operations and enterprise integration engineering. You will design, build, operate and continuously improve secure, reliable and scalable cloud and integration capabilities across an international organisation.

The position has a strong hands-on focus while also providing technical leadership. You will shape standards and reusable patterns, support local technical teams and help modernise a complex hybrid technology landscape.

What you will do

Design, operate and improve Azure cloud and hybrid infrastructure, with responsibility for availability, performance, scalability, security, resilience and cost management.

Support cloud strategy and execution, including Azure Landing Zones, infrastructure harmonisation, migration, modernisation and legacy remediation.

Develop automated deployments and operational tooling using Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code, preferably Bicep.

Advance operational excellence through automation, monitoring, FinOps, AIOps, self-service, incident management, disaster recovery and business continuity practices.

Design, build and operate integrations between ERP systems, business applications, SaaS platforms, cloud services and external partners.

Own and evolve an Azure-native integration platform using API Management, Service Bus, Logic Apps, Functions, Key Vault and Application Insights.

Create standard integration patterns, deployment templates and reusable components that enable secure, monitored and scalable solutions across business units.

Design and operate secure APIs, including authentication, authorisation, versioning, throttling, lifecycle management, logging, monitoring and error handling.

Contribute to cloud and architecture governance, technical standards, reference architectures and roadmaps.

Identify and remediate technical debt, architecture risks, vulnerabilities, operational weaknesses and single points of failure.

Provide third-line support for complex integration, connectivity, identity, API, messaging, performance and deployment issues.

Coach technical specialists through guidance, reusable blueprints, runbooks, standards and knowledge sharing.

Apply secure-by-design, least-privilege and zero-trust principles and ensure solutions meet relevant security, data-protection and operational requirements.

What you bring

Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure experience across cloud infrastructure, hybrid environments, identity, security, governance, monitoring and backup.

Strong enterprise integration experience covering API design and lifecycle management, messaging, orchestration, event-driven architecture and observability.

Practical expertise with Azure API Management, Service Bus, Logic Apps, Azure DevOps, Key Vault and Application Insights.

A sound understanding of API security, including OAuth 2.0, certificates, secrets management, throttling and access-control patterns.

Experience with CI/CD, deployment automation and Infrastructure as Code; Bicep is preferred.

Experience operating business-critical cloud and integration services using incident, problem, change and release-management practices.

The ability to define and apply reference architectures, engineering standards and reusable technical patterns.

Clear communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to coach technical colleagues.

A pragmatic, collaborative and improvement-oriented mindset, with a strong focus on quality, security, reliability and knowledge sharing.

Experience and qualifications

At least five years of relevant hands-on experience in Azure cloud, platform, integration or infrastructure engineering, or IT operations within an international or multi-site environment.

Demonstrable experience operating both Azure cloud infrastructure and cloud-native integration solutions.

Practical experience with API Management, Service Bus and Logic Apps. Experience with Azure Functions, App Services and Application Insights is highly desirable.

Strong experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code and automated deployment practices.

Experience with cloud governance, Azure Landing Zones, hybrid-cloud operations, security controls and operational monitoring.

Experience in cloud migration, integration modernisation, infrastructure consolidation or digital transformation is advantageous.

Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications are strongly preferred, for example Azure Administrator, Azure Developer, Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer or Azure Security Engineer.

Professional fluency in English; an additional European language is advantageous.

Working arrangement

The role is based in the Netherlands and offers a hybrid working arrangement. Further organisational and location details are shared during the recruitment process.
