To accelerate their growth, we are looking for a hands-on CTO / CIO who can help shape, build, and scale a cutting-edge digital product from the ground up.
About the role
As CTO / CIO, you will join at an early and pivotal stage. This is not a purely strategic position — we are looking for someone who builds, codes, and leads by example.
You will be responsible for defining the technical vision, building a scalable architecture, and actively contributing to development. A strong focus lies on leveraging AI-driven capabilities to create meaningful user impact.
You will work closely with the founders and play a key role in translating product vision into a robust and future-proof platform.
What you’ll do
- Define and execute the overall technology and AI strategy
- Architect and build a scalable platform from the ground up
- Actively contribute to development (hands-on coding)
- Lead and grow the engineering capability over time
- Translate product vision into technical solutions and roadmaps
- Ensure high standards in performance, scalability, and security
- Stay ahead of developments in AI and emerging technologies
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and business stakeholders
🔧 What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in a senior technical leadership role (CTO, Lead Engineer, or similar)
- Strong development background, specifically in:
- React (frontend)
- Java (backend)
- AI / Machine Learning (must-have)
- Ability to operate both strategically and deeply hands-on
- Experience building and scaling products in early-stage environments
- Strong understanding of software architecture and modern tech stacks
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action
- Based in (or willing to relocate to) Amsterdam, with a strong on-site presence
