About the organization
Our international client is a leading player in its industry and is in the midst of a large-scale, cloud-native transformation. Operating out of Amsterdam, a high-impact IT department develops innovative solutions for dozens of countries. Technology is central to their strategy and Azure is the backbone of their global platform.
For the expansion of their Cloud Center of Excellence, we are looking for a Lead Azure Architect to provide direction, develop standards and act as a trusted advisor across the organization.
The role
As Lead Azure Architect, you are the strategic and technical brains behind the cloud architecture. You help the organization grow scalable, secure and future-proof. You work closely with engineering teams, security, data experts and international stakeholders.
Your responsibilities
- Design, monitor and further develop the Azure enterprise architecture.
- Establish and manage cloud governance, landing zones, security standards and architecture principles.
- Advise MT, product teams and international stakeholders on cloud strategy and technical choices.
- Leading a team of (Cloud) Architects and Engineers; coaching, mentoring and providing direction.
- Translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
- Review designs, execute architecture boards and challenge technical choices.
- Drive cost optimization, scalability and security-by-design.
- Improve DevOps and cloud-native practices within the organization.
Your profile
You are a visionary architect who can both dive into detail and persuade at a strategic level. You understand enterprise complexity, know how to include stakeholders and always remain curious about innovation.
You bring:
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in cloud and infrastructure architecture.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure (IaaS/PaaS), landing zones, governance, ARM/Bicep/Terraform, networking and security.
- Experience with cloud migrations, modernization projects and enterprise environments.
- You can lead, challenge and inspire teams with content.
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, containerization, Kubernetes (AKS) is a strong plus.
- Strong communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus).
- You feel at home in an international, complex and dynamic environment.
