As a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, security, and scalability. You will work primarily with a cloud-based infrastructure (MS Azure) alongside on-premise solutions across multiple European locations. The role focuses on harmonization, consolidation, security and operational excellence within the IT operations environment.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation and execution of the IT operations strategy aligned with the company’s digital transformation and business objectives.
- Support the standardization and consolidation of IT infrastructure across the group, contributing to harmonization of cloud-based and on-premise environments.
- Help maintain operational excellence, business continuity, and resilience of IT infrastructure.
- Collaborate with local IT teams and other IT functions to meet business needs and support IT operations.
- Monitor and manage cloud infrastructure (MS Azure) and on-premise environments for optimal performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Support the development and operation of a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) to enable the BME cloud strategy.
- Assist in migrating and modernizing legacy infrastructure and consolidating systems where applicable.
- Apply best practices for hybrid cloud operations, including governance, cost control, and security frameworks.
- Participate in automation initiatives, FinOps, AIOps, and self-service capabilities to enhance efficiency and reduce operational overhead.
- Contribute to incident response and IT support to ensure high availability and rapid issue resolution.
- Ensure IT operations comply with data protection (GDPR), cybersecurity regulations, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with Security teams to implement and maintain zero-trust security models.
- Support disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) efforts to safeguard against cyber threats and operational disruptions.
- Assist in applying security baselines, patching, vulnerability management, and compliance frameworks.
- Support coordination with vendors and suppliers to ensure service performance and cost-effective procurement of IT resources.
- Keep up to date with emerging infrastructure and operations technologies and contribute insights to support continuous improvement.

Education and Experience
- At least 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure and operations in a multi-site or international context.
- Certified for Azure cloud and other relevant technical certifications.
- Strong experience with setting up and operating Azure DevOps and IaC (Bicep).
- Practical experience with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure preferred) and hybrid cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge of IT service management frameworks (ITIL), automation tools, and relevant operational technologies.
- Familiarity with network architecture, security best practices, and compliance standards.
- Experience supporting IT consolidation, migration, and modernization projects is an advantage.
- Proficient in English; additional relevant language skills are a plus.
